Cooper Tropeau
Singer-Songwriter and Recording Artist
Cooper Tropeau has been an active artist for last six years as he continues to play live, record music and build his reputation as a musician.
Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the prairies of western Canada, he first started guitar lessons at the age of eight, however he truly discovered his passion for music when he started writing his own material. The driving force behind Cooper’s songwriting was the prospect of turning emotions and experiences into songs and stories. It became a form of therapy, turning the highs and lows of his own life into meaningful music with the hope of connecting to others through sound.
Cooper Tropeau’s debut album “Crown On The Dash” was definitely of the country genre with numerous upbeat party tracks as well as some slower ballads. A heavy dose of twang with inspiration from classic country material, adding a touch of his own personal flair to the mix. These days he has been exploring multiple genres with his brand being described as Country, Rock, Alternative, and Americana.
Cooper’s next project “Life Of The Party” highlights the progress he has made since his debut album and the new direction his music has taken. The six song EP is a mix of his country style as well as tracks with a more modern feel and lyrics that hit home. “Life Of The Party” was released in June 2022 with the first single from the project going live back in August 2021. This EP includes songs such as “Why Am I Only Happy When I’m High”, a bittersweet ballad which also has an accompanying music video. It also features “Never Hate Me” an upbeat, heavy hitting track that takes inspiration from the rock and roll genre. Another song to look out for on the EP would be “Keep You Coming Back for More” a fast country rocker with heavy doses of twang and steel guitar.
“This project is very personal and to me and I’m confident it’s my best work so far. It represents both sides of being the life of the party. The ups, the downs, and how I’ve dealt with them throughout my life.” -CT
With numerous shows and festivals under his belt as well as two studio projects Cooper is past getting his feet wet and is looking to make an impression within the music industry. His debut album garnered over 150,000 streams across multiple music platforms but he is far from reaching his professional goals. Cooper has also received a diploma in the field of audio engineering and is working towards mastering all aspects of the recording process. With his future aspirations set high Cooper has spent the last 3 months living in Nashville Tennessee to study the music industry and improve his craft.
